Senior quote...

"I am building a fire, and everyday I train, I add more fuel. At just the right moment, I light the match. And defenders will wish they could play me in slow motion. "- Theo Walcott

Art is...

Art is something that appeals to a person on a personal, physical, and spiritual level. Art can be anything and any where. Its the observer that makes his or her desision if that "thing" is art. I could drop a banana on a a table and i think that it is art, but someone who comes along and sees a banana on a table could think that its a peice of garbage. It all depends on the observer to tell whether the object is art and if it relates to them on any specific level of thought.

This one time at band camp.....

“American Pie” (the song by Don Mclean) is based on a secular humanist worldview. Throughout the song he makes it seem like there is no existence on God, writing "the father, son, and holy ghost caught the last train for the coast". Humans are in control, which is quite simple to tell by the line, "the jester stole his thorny crown". Humans are mortal-“This will be the day that I die”. Suffering- In the song God has left and there is no present God. His Hope is that he relies on the music to pull him through life, when there is no God. Values and Morals, He obviously doesn’t value love because he says, "the courtroom was adjourned; no verdict was returned". For Mclean, the only truth in this world was “music”; all he can do know is remember what music was to him.

I'm the Wiz and nobody beats me!

the Wizard of Oz has been declared as both a post modern and cosmic humanism worldview. It can be compared to the Chronic of Narnia because Narnia is based on a Christian worldview. Its plain to see that the Lion is a archetype for Jesus. The common facts that both these stories show are that both aren't reality. Oz is basically a dream that Dorothy has and Narnia is a magical, mystical, and fantasy world. Also both stories able the characters to make a choice to come back to reality. For example in Oz Dorothy can click her heels and in Narnia the youngs chaps can just go back thru their lil cubby hole and return to reality.

Mammonize Me Man

The Demon known as Mammon, is found in book one of Paradise Lost. He is obsessed with gold and worldly treasures. Book one describes Mammon as the least demon out of all the demons in Hell. It even says that in Heaven, Mammon wasn't looked upon with respect. Later, he forces the demons to tear apart the soil of Hell so that he can have all the riches of gold in it. Mammon is one very selfish and greedy mofo.

Oz god

I think that the Wizard of Oz is a form of Post Modern worldview because the characters in the story create their own form of god, the wizard. I have heard many people today say that it is of a christian worldview. Honestly i have not seen the whole movie. I have just seen the part where the tornado takes place and the movie turns colored. It is hard for me to give an in depth analysis of this but from what Josh says, he has convinced me that it is of a Cosmic Humanism worldview.
