Photo stories can be useful in the classroom if you would like to keep the attention of your students. With so many features, the teacher can appeal to all the students likes. It can almost be used like a power point but is more realistic. Here is a photo story I made about my soccer career!

Emerging Technology in the Clsasroom

Podcasts have been taking over the world it seems like! Pretty much every thing we listen to can be heard on a podcast; news, music, television shows, movies, and interviews. Teachers have now brought podcasts into the classroom for their students to use. Having a podcast allows the student share the learning experience with each other. It also allows the teacher to provide material that can be converted into audio files for the students to download and use at a time that suits them. Such companies as ABC, CBS, CNN, NASA, and The History Channel have been getting into this podcasts fad. The students are able to access information from any of these companies. It is very beneficial for the students.

Here is a link to a site that goes into great detail about the emerging technology if Podcasts:

Assistive Learning Device

I have found an assisted technology device that helps students with disabilities. It is portable desk that is easily adaptive to those students that are limited in where they can be taught. It is a big desk that has a giant surface area for workspace. It can be used for any sorts of classes such as art, geography, math and reading. This assisted desk can be tilted at an angle for the student so they are able to sit comfortably and function with out any obstacles. The website to view this wonderful device is listed below:

Icebreakers in P.E

Here I have found three videos that briefly explain and show "icebreakers" for students to use to get to know one another. Icebreakers help students know eachother's names and make them feel comfortable around others by creating trust. One of my videos explains how to run a icebreaker, and i would want students to watch that and try to make their own icebreaker.

About Me

hello, I am Sam Holland and I am a sophomore at Northwest Nazarene University. I love to hang out with freinds as every body should! I am a little wacky and i stand out in a crowd! I am 5'2 and love it. I like to say i'm fun-sized. I am currently on the NNU mens soccer team! I have played soccer since i could walk. Its a good way to stay in shape and have fun at the same time. The guys on the team are amazing, they are like my brothers!

I am from Seattle, Washington. Most people say "Oh that stinks! it rains so much there!" But nay! I love teh metro scene and the Seattle skyline; its so beautiful! I lived in a little suburb of Seattle called Kent. I grew up going to christian schools all my life. First I went to Rainier Christian and then transfered in 6th grade to a school called Seattle Christian. Thats where I graduated from in 2009.

NNU was in my mind starting my junior year in highschool. I had looked at other chstian universities but wasn't satisfied. I was mainly looking for soccer scholarships. I had gotten an alright amount at NNU so i decided to go there. It was my freshman year in highschool when i got the call to want to teach. I have alway been active and eager to teach other people how to do things. I have always wanted to be a pe teacher but it was after my senior year when it was a definite decision. So far I am impressed with NNU and cant wait to see what God has in store for my future!
